PAULA'S SOUTHAMPTON BLOG: "AGENT MATCH" IS OVER; WHAT BETTER WAY TO MATCH AGENTS THAN ACTIVERAIN!!

"AGENT MATCH" IS OVER; WHAT BETTER WAY TO MATCH AGENTS THAN ACTIVERAIN??

I saw the letter that was written by the NAR official telling us why they are discontinuing the Agent Match website---I congratulate them for finally seeing the light!...NO one can possibly think that a website on a computer is capable of identifying an individuals business acumen through it's search engine!!

Now NAR is looking for ways to improve the concept of matching agents and the buying and selling public....So, what about blogging? Why not use a proven method?

  • An agent who blogs is revealing a lot about their knowledge of an area...or areas, and that includes revealing their business acumen!
  • Local posts are truly the best way to tell the story about an area, they also reveal the sort of person who is telling the story.
  • ActiveRain is a well established website now for those individuals looking for information about real estate and local information about a given area.
  • I personally get about 75%-80% of my listings through searches that bring the public to my blog.
  • This is an opportunity that I have nurtured since 2007; it has been the most beneficial for me to get listings.
  • Look at the data that comes through ActiveRain in sales results and local market reports--what a great source of timely market information!

It is time for blogging to be recognized by the NAR and others as to the power of words. It is a demonstration of an agent's intimate knowledge of an area that comes through in a blog post!

ACTIVERAIN IS WHERE IT IS AT!!!

Active Rain is my go-to source for finding referral agents, followed by an email and phone calls to be sure I'm referring a good fit.

Lottie: I do the same thing and even though I don't get many referrals because of the kind of market here, I do get some and they are a blessing to me!

Paula -- Whenever I have a referral, I always start with AR first and read through posts looking for an agent who does market reports and hyperlocal posts showing to me that they KNOW the area my referral is interested in. I want to match the referral with an agent shows strong familiarity with the area through his/her posts.

Hi Paula.  I knoiw blogging has been very benefisial to me in staying on top of everything in my area, both real estate related and otherwise.  I would always look for a strong blogger first for a referral.

Barbara: Very good idea! I find that is the best way to connect with an agent in a specific area too. The problem is that sometimes there are no agents blogging about an area that i am looking in--that needs to change in my opinion!

Scott: Me too---just think of the numbers of buyers and sellers doing the same thing! It is a great source of local information and therefore a fabulous way to find an agent to help you out, especially if you have not had good luck in looking the standard way--by going to agencies and interviewing agents. I find that way of finding an agent to be very limiting.
