WHERE DO YOU PLAN ON GOING TO RETIRE??? Ever heard of Tuckahoe??? I know you probably have not thought of just where you will go if and when you retire; we are all too young to be thinking about that sort of thing!!! But, the reason I ask is because if you have ever entertained the idea of finding a place to go when you want to really relax, or maybe even a place to go to retire, I have found a little known place here in the Hamptons that is ideal for those who want to go to fish, swim, take in the wildlife sights and just vegetate for a good long time! The area is called Tuckahoe...located just North of the Village of Southampton and stretches up to the wonderful waterfront neighborhoods near the golf courses.
There are not many places like this anyhwere...yet, in just 5 minutes you can be near the ocean, the villages, the bays and all the other treasures you may want to enjoy.
Located just North of Southampton Village and right near all the famous golf courses: Shinnecock Hills, National, and Southampton Golf Course, Tuckhaoe is there waiting for those looking for it's pristine beauty! This rare and facinating place is just what the wildlife enthusiast is looking for!
Real estate prices vary from $899K to well over $3 Mil. There are waterfront properties available here too which makes this area very appetizing to retirees who may want to build here. A spectacular Wildlife refuge is the pride of East End preservationists. Here, they can envision a prolific future for protected species that have been safely ensconced here.
All the efforts to make this an area for the ages have been realized. Now, all it takes is the continued countenance of this precious eco system to keep the wildlife as safe as they are now.
In the areas where clamming is allowed, you can see the clammen in their hip boots, with buckets in hand as they pepper the horizon, searching for their next harvest.
The open bay vistas of Little Peconic Bay The Great Peconic bay are some of the most breathtaking views to be found on the East End of Long Island. Here, fishing, recreational boating and other water sports are part of everyday life. The influx of summer residents keep this area hopping in the summer but come late September and October you will find the most relaxing of times here. The weather remains warm and enjoyable through both months and even into November if you are lucky.
